With the pandemic of 2020 new habits are on the corner. Most of us are working from home, working out at home and eating at home, so what better time to touch on healthy habits?
- Start your day with water - yes, not coffee (it may come later, don't worry). As we sleep, we tend to lose water and wake up dehydrated, even if you don't feel thirsty. Caffeine is a naturally cases us to lose water so we want to make sure we hydrate before we caffeinate! It is recommended to start with 3,5 dl of room temperature water (you can add some lemon for vitamin C) upon waking. You'll experience over time, your energy will increase, your appetite will even out and your digestion will be smooth sailing!
- Create an eating schedule - working from home may result in having a wonky eating schedule which tends to lead to overeating, under eating, low energy, headaches etc. Breakfast is recommended within two hours of. waking up, lunch three hours after that and the same for dinner.
- Eat Mostly Plants - at least half your plate should. be filled with fruits and veggies at every meal. This allows for lots of fiber, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and immune boosting support along with low calorie, filling foods that will fill you up and not fill you out. So go on, drink a smoothie with berries and add greens to your lunch and roasted veggies for dinner.
- Move all day long - we lack the extra movement from commuting daily and it's easy to fall. into a couch, desk, bed slump. Take your conference calls outside, stand during phone calls, take a lunch time hike or a post dinner stroll with a. friend and get some fresh air daily. It will also increase your productivity, energy and keep you fit.
With these simple steps, I hope you'll find a healthier and happier way of life.
Lots of love,
